a 19th. century battleground, the smell of sulfur all around
soldiers blue and gray are hitting the ground
cannonballs and musket flare cutting like razors through acrid air
corpses and souls are scattered all around

the rage of battle is over and done but ghosts care not who actually won
aparitions press on ahead don't even seem to know they're dead
the cries of the wounded fill the air, the cannon's loud blinding glare
spirits wandering blind and deaf and so they say some never left

walking the grounds many years on the blackness of night before the dawn
the sour smell of battle on every lawn
and though so many years have passed the presence of soldiers here to the last
their suffering screams of sorrow many years on

men fought on that tragic day blurring the lines between blue and gray
life was like garbage and thrown away
bullets were flying and soldiers were dying many souls lost and crying
blood stained flags flutter still to this day
